Laura's Birthday: Part #1

A couple weekends ago we began the celebration of Laura's birthday with a party at the CEB (student center) for her and about 7 other people with November birthdays. We had a "carne asada" (cookout), pinata (of course!) and cake. We also played some silly games and had an inflatable moon bounce thingy. Haha!

i seriously have the sweetest dog. she might be a bit mischevious, but how can you stay mad at a face that cute? and yes, she is spoiled rotten!

thanksgiving #2

on thanksgiving day, we got together with other missionaries in the city. there was somewhere over 65 people there, and we had a great time and enjoyed some great food! here are just a few pictures:

thanksgiving #1

i admit, i'm a little behind on blogging. ok...a lot behind! anyway, on the monday before thanksgiving, laura and i hosted a thanksgiving party for about 23 of our mexican friends. we had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green bean casserole, baked macaroni and cheese, broccoli casserole, purple lady (jello thing...dont knock it till you try it. it's amazing!), cranberry sauce, biscuits, corn bread, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and brownies (because even if they hadn't liked anything else, we knew they LOVE brownies!). we were a lil concerned about trying to cook so much, seeing as how our oven is a lil unreliable to say the least, not to mention incredibly small! but God definitely blessed our oven that day and the entire day went off without a hitch. izzy even seemed to have fun and didn't go too crazy with all the extra people. here is a picture of some of us (several had already left by this point) enjoying the evening:

did i get a dog? or a cat?

laura was flipping through a magazine the other day (a magazine in ENGLISH!) and came across this picture of a cat. no big deal, right? kinda funny. then she looked over and saw izzy on the couch... notice any similarities??? greeeeeeat, my dog thinks she is a cat. priceless. :)

this is why i love puppies...

i've been house/dog sitting for david and becky while they were away this weekend. it has been so much fun to be with my puppy, their puppy, and their dog (even if a lil crazy at times!) today i came in from the school room out back and found the puppies like this. how can you not love them?!?!
