i have the greatest friends ever!

well, i have tons of pictures from the great university group that was here last week, but i don't have time to post them all right now. instead, here are a few pictures of the great package my friends cindy and mel sent me. each of these 5 posters has a message written on it using candy for several of the words. rather creative i'd say! these girls are amazing and i love them so much!

here is the complete message. it stretched from my kitchen all the way to the far wall of the living room!

tonight we got to have a sweet time of worship with the group of university students that has been here this week. it was so great just to worship the Father together after an incredible week of seeing Him work. below are the words to one of the songs we sang. it's a song i've heard many times before, but the Lord really used it to speak to me tonight. enjoy.

The Answer
Shane Barnard

I've tried more of me
And I've come up dry
Trading You for things
Things that go away

My happiness is found in less
Of me and more of You
My happiness is found in less
Of me and more of You

I have found the answer is
To love You and be loved by You alone
Alright, alright, alright

You crucify me and the world to me
And I will only boast in You
Alright, alright, alright

I'm so satisfied
At the thought of You
Growing up in me
Covering everything

You are, You are (You are loved by me)
You are, You are (You are loved by me)
You are, You are (You are loved by me)
You are, You are, You are

i'm so productive today....

we finally feel like we've gotten our house mostly put together, so here's a "virtual tour"

the walkway leading to our door. don't you just love all the trees and flowers???
our door
my corner of the office
our favorite part of the house: our map with the names of all our friends serving around the world!
my bathroom
the patio outside my bathroom
the view from our patio
my room
more of my room
the kitchen. don't you just love the orange cabinets?? :)
the living/dining room
part of the "tv room"
more of the "tv room"
the skylights that look up onto the patio....very fun!

On the Road to Beautiful

two posts in one day! shocking, i know ;) i heard this song for the first time today and wanted to share. enjoy.

On the Road to Beautiful
Charlie Hall

I crumble at Your kiss and grace
I'm a weakling in the dust
Teach me how to cling to You
With all my life and all my love

Father come to me, hold me up 'cause I can barely stand
My strength is gone and my breath is short, I can't reach out my hands
But my heart is set on a pilgrimage to heaven's own bright King
So in faltering or victory I will always sing

And on the road to beautiful
My seasons always change
But my life is spent on loving You
To know You in Your power and pain

Father come to me, hold me up 'cause I can barely stand
My strength is gone and my breath is short, I can't reach out my hands
But my heart is set on a pilgrimage to heaven's own bright King
So in faltering or victory I will always sing

You're my portion in this life
You're my strength now in my fight
And to You I pledge my heart
In the pain and in the dark I'll love You
I'll love You,
I'll love You
I'll love You...

Father come to me, hold me up 'cause I can barely stand
My strength is gone and my breath is short, I can't reach out my hands
But my heart is set on a pilgrimage to heaven's own bright King
So in faltering or victory I will always sing
And my heart is set on a pilgrimage to heaven's own bright King
So in faltering or victory I will always sing

I love You
I love You
I love You

more pictures

Just a few pictures from VBS last week. Enjoy!

The kids weren't quite sure what to think of the camera in this first picture, but they sure warmed up to it quickly...especially once they realized they could see themselves!

I think these two were brothers, but I'm not sure.

Don't you just love Emanuel's expression??

How 'bout Carlos' look here?

Don't mind the finger prints on my camera lens. ;) Aren't these twins precious??

Church Picnic

Today I went to yet another church picnic! We went out to a "campamento" on the outskirts of town, had church and then spent the afternoon picnic-ing and hanging out. There was volleyball, soccer and swimming, as well as some napping. It was a nice day, only in the mid-80s with a great breeze. Here are a few pictures. Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend!

This little guy was absolutely adorable and incredibly laid-back. He just chilled in my lap for awhile, then fell asleep for over an hour. :)

We enjoyed just sitting and talking for quite awhile.

It was a kind of a lazy afternoon, but very enjoyable!

last night i got to go to an area called "canal 58" where david and becky began a bible study a couple of years ago. my favorite part, of course, was getting to play with a bunch of kids in the street for an hour or two. someone once told me that we feel most alive when we are doing what we are created to do (glorify God) in the way He created us to do that. for me, it's loving on kids, and i can't put into words just how alive that makes me feel. God has so richly blessed me and it is such a privelege to get to share His love with these precious children. the following are just a few of the pictures we took. once i got my camera out, all the older girls (12 or 13 years old) wanted to take tons and tons of pictures. so, i let them (tho the whole "smile for the picture" thing hasn't worked out too well)! hope you enjoy the pics even a fraction as much as i enjoyed the kids!

of course, i loved ALL the kids, but these were two of my favorites!

self portraits are difficult, but they love them!

how can you NOT fall in love with her??

too precious for words. Alejandro, age 2

so, if she was smiling this would be a great picture! alejandro loved being hung upside down!
the boys in the back are actually eating huge marshmallows...quite popular here!
she's going to be trouble when she gets a lil older! but for now she's just pure cuteness!
for some reason these boys thought my name was really fun to say...all night i kept hearing "KIMBERLY!!!" from the peanut gallery here. it was pretty entertaining.
